Exterior Painting

We are starting to get noticed!!!!! Almost everything up to this point has been inside and not exposed to the general public. This week, all of that has changed. We were going to wait until the very end to paint the exterior walls but they needed it completed prior to installing the fire escape stairs on the west wall. The weather slowed them down but they should finish everything this upcoming week.

The exterior painting is being completed by Guillermo’s Painting located at 2209 N. Main St. Ste 168, Cleburne, TX

This upcoming week they are going to start on the front and west sides of the building. They will be preparing and then applying the Elastomeric Paint to the outside walls. We are going with a cream color with white trim to restore the outside to how it looked back in the 20’s.

Windows & Cabinets

We have windows and cabinets!!!!!! This past week they finished installing the windows on the West side of the building.

Side Window Video

Uncategorized

Here is a short video of the side windows. I was playing around with my drone and make a quick video. I’m planning over the holiday weekend to spend some time and get smoother videos of the building that are not so jerky.

This is just a teaser:)

Window Cutouts

We are getting closer. They finished opening up the windows upstairs and have started on the two cutouts downstairs.

Upstairs Windows

This has been a busy week for the building. They have started to install the 4 x 5 Ton HVAC units, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs.

The plumbing continues….

And finally where our front door and emergency exit will be located.

The best one is when the sun was setting and they had just started. That is the Johnson County Clock Tower.

Electrical-Plumbing

Not much happened this week . They continued to work on the electrical upstairs and the plumbing downstairs.

Here are some photos of where our water fountains will go.

This week will be more electrical, plumbing, and the HVAC build out. We should also find out the status for the window cutouts upstairs. We need those completed prior to ordering the emergency stairway on the West side of the building.

Stay tuned for more updates:)

Demolition Continues

We have a new power pole!!!! Oncor Electric finished installing the new power pole on the west side of the building. We are not sure but they may be leaving both poles in place to provide enough electric to our building and the buildings to the West. Either way it will not interfere with the emergency exit steps that will be installed along the side of the building. Starting this upcoming week, HVAC will start along with the remaining power and plumbing connections.

This past weekend we finished what we could demolishing the remaining firing strips upstairs and the old electric motor that was installed on the Otis Material Lift. We needed to remove the motor to restore the lift back to its original installation which was hand powered. Once everything is complete we will encase the material lift with metal railing for safety and re-install new ropes.

Antique Find

What a hot week in Cleburne Texas!!!!!!! All week it was in the 100’s. This week there was not much accomplished. We are still waiting on Oncor Electric to move the electric pole. Once that is completed we can move forward with the electrical and opening the fire escape/windows on the West side of the building. Until then they are finishing out the plumbing and electric inside of the building.

Below is a picture of the mechanical room downstairs where the HVAC units and hot water tank will be located.

Also this weekend we were lucky enough to find an Antique Rensselaer Platform Grain & Feed Scale. This is the same type of scale used when the building was an American Dry Good Store in the early 1900’s. The best we can estimate is around 1907. This piece will remain upstairs with some of the other pieces from the original building.
